Where to go for breastfeeding advice?

Posted by: nuvomaternity on: June 18, 2008

When you first learn to breastfeed, you have all these questions to ask once you’ve left the hospital and trained midwives. Often you need an answer to your question NOW and at 3pm in the morning. So I’ve done some web browsing and come up with some websites to help you out. Please feel free to add any that you know of as well.

1. Australian Breastfeeding Association - lots of FAQs, forums, articles and links to other sites. A great place to start.

2. La Leche League International - a well respected international organistion where you’ll find all the answers to your questions!

3. Breastfeeding.com - A U.S site with more of an American focus but still lots of useful articles, clips and advice.

4.  S.A. Parenting and Child Health - a great site with easy to understand fact sheets and Q&As to all the questions you usually have. I used this site quite often with my second son. Lots of good advice on general child and parenting questions.

5. Raising Children Network - another good Australian website with easy to understand diagrams and articles.

Well, there’s some sites to get you started when looking for breastfeeding advice. Good Luck!

How about http://www.kellymom.com? It is one of the most used sites and all evidence-based information.

Great find – thanks for sharing this one. Another great site with lots of useful info. Being a “Kelly” myself, I love the name!
