Here’s a unique way that the Mums of New York, celebrated World Breastfeeding Week. Don’t you love that powerful image? According to the article Breastfeeding on the Double-D Train, a group of mums staged a public nurse-in on the New York City subway. We all know what trains are like, with crowds, strange people and lots of people staring at you. What a place to make the ultimate breastfeeding statement!
The annual event is held to bring attention to the Breastfeeding Bill of Rights, that affirms the mothers right to breastfeed, room-in with their newborns and refuse formula and bottles in hospital. Apparently the bill was held up in the New York State Senate. It makes you realise how lucky we are in Australia, where most of these rights are standard in our hospitals today.
What’s the strangest place you’ve breastfed in public?
