With the Australian government sent to announce the introduction of 18 weeks Paid Maternity leave in Tuesday’s budget, what you think? Do you agree with the proposal or think it is too expensive in today’s economic climate? VOTE NOW and share your thoughts below! P.S. I totally agree with you Suzanne, as I have been a longtime supporter of the introduction of paid maternity leave. It is a great step in the right direction! I was also lucky to receive Maternity leave and it really do make a difference.

Of course it is the right time to introduce paid maternity leave for all, economic crisis or not. There will always be reasons why its not a good time, why something else is a higher priority but a scheme like this is long overdue in this country. I work for the government and was lucky to receive 14 weeks paid leave plus a secure job to return to when I chose so I know what a difference it makes!
